The meeting started at about 6:30 at stately Rein manor. There were 5 youth and (eventually) 7 adults on hand.
Before working on events, we reached a few decisions based on feedback from last year's event:
- Beaver Creek's adult room will be used as a lounge and trading post and will feature pop on tap courtesy of Paul Kupser.
- Although everybody liked the idea of sleeping outside, it was determined that counting on that to solve cabin crowding issues probably wouldn't be a good idea.
- The WCFS was given permission to hold WCU classes at Winter Camp during freetime.
- We will have a trading post but it won't be counted on to make buckets of money.
- We will look for souvenir glasses for Winter Camp and then, depending on Paul's input, offer some sort of bottomless glass through the trading post. We will likely supplement this with canned brand-name pop. There was a lot of concern about the portability of fountain soda and this seemed like a good solution, particularly for Clearwater and High Point residents who didn't want to carry cups of pop to their cabin.
- The event cost will be increased 2.02 for both youth and adults
- During the voting, the youth got 3 votes each for 15 total and adults got 1 each for 7 total. A show of hands was used.
We were able to create an activity schedule, but did not vote on any meals or meal themes due to our compressed time frame. Progress was hampered slightly because Ethan was the only youth who had attended Winter Camp before and more explanation was necessary for some items than might have been necessary normally.
